The transnational project Blue Circular Economy is one of the finalists for the REGIOSTARS awards:
“The REGIOSTARS Awards are a yearly competition, organised by the European Commission’s Directorate General for Regional and Urban Policy. It aims at identifying good practices in regional development and highlighting innovative, EU-funded projects, which could be attractive and inspiring to other regions and project managers.”
Winners will be announced on October 14th, 2020 and people can vote for their favourite project to receive the Public Choice award: https://regiostarsawards.eu/
The ERI is a partner in the Blue Circular Economy (BCE), described by the REGIOSTARS as:
“BCE is a transnational project supporting and innovating the development of the fishing net waste industry at Europe’s most Northern Edge, from Norway to Greenland. The mission is to generate sustainable business opportunities offered by lost or discarded fishing gear. The vision is to focus on the full product life-cycle, up skilling SMEs to create resource efficient businesses offering products and services from marine waste, supporting transferability of techniques.”
