Job Description | I am researching how forestry access roads affect the functioning of the peatland ecosystem and how those effects change as roads are restored back to peatland. Specifically how roads affect predator movement, vegetation and eco-hydrology across the Flow Country blanket bog. The results will help inform the hydrological and biodiversity implications of road removal and restoration in peatlands and other resource-rich ecosystems worldwide. When I’m not researching, I like to explore the Scottish landscape, on foot, by bike or in the water, ideally taking a tent. |
