Dr Mascha Bischoff
Molecular Plant Ecologist
Mascha is a chemical ecologist working on plant responses to environmental stressors with a focus on plant volatile organic compound emissions and their role in shaping ecological interactions. She explores the ecology and biochemistry of peat-forming Sphagnum mosses with a range of analytical methods and oversees the chemical ecology laboratory facilities at the ERI. She has a background in botany and evolutionary ecology, as well as nature conservation with a special interest in the effects of land use on biodiversity.
Mascha is also a lecturer teaching in the UHI Environmental Science programme.
